Rocket Science Barbie is where rocket scientist Kerianne Hobbs shares her passion for both art and science. The name came from a series of events when she was a freshman in Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. Her father asked her what she wanted for Christmas and as a joke she responded “Astronaut Barbie.” Dredging the Bowels of eBay, he found the 1994 and 1985 Astronaut Barbies starting what grew to be a huge collection of space, technology, military, and aviation Barbies that sit on the desk of Kerianne’s office today. The barbies coupled with Kerianne’s affinity for brightly colored feminine clothing earned her the nickname “Rocket Science Barbie” from her classmates.
